VinFast Auto Ltd. (VFS) just hit a pretty impressive milestone in its home market, even if Wall Street isn't throwing confetti about it. The Vietnamese automaker delivered 20,380 electric vehicles in October, making it the first domestic manufacturer to crack the 20,000 mark in a single month.
The company announced the record-breaking numbers on Wednesday, highlighting its growing dominance in Vietnam's rapidly expanding EV market. For the first ten months of 2025, VinFast has delivered 124,264 vehicles across its model lineup—a solid showing for a relatively young automaker trying to establish itself.
The Heavy Lifters
VinFast's compact SUV lineup drove most of October's volume. The VF 3 led the pack with 4,619 deliveries, closely followed by the VF 5 at 4,450 units. The Limo Green came in third with 4,160 deliveries, while the Herio Green, VF 6, and VF 7 rounded out the company's top performers.
Looking at the full January-through-October period, the VF 3 and VF 5 remain the clear bestsellers with 36,005 and 35,406 units delivered respectively. The VF 6 contributed another 16,949 deliveries, and the Herio Green added 11,524 units. Even the premium VF 9, aimed at a smaller audience, managed 1,477 deliveries during the period.
VinFast plans to expand further before year-end, with deliveries of its EC Van and Minio Green models expected to launch by late 2025.
Market Reality Check
Here's the disconnect: operational wins don't always translate to stock market enthusiasm. VFS shares dropped 1.43% to $3.43 on Wednesday despite the delivery milestone. According to market sources, the stock has lost over 13% in the past year, suggesting investors remain cautious about the company's broader prospects even as it dominates its home turf.
