AerCap Holdings locked in lease agreements for five Boeing aircraft with South African carrier FlySafair, including three new 737 MAX 8 jets set for delivery in 2028 and two 737-800NG planes arriving in 2026.

AerCap Holdings (AER) signed lease agreements Tuesday that will add five Boeing aircraft to FlySafair's fleet over the next few years, marking a substantial upgrade for the South African carrier.

The deal includes three new Boeing 737 MAX 8 jets scheduled for delivery starting in the first quarter of 2028. On top of that, two Boeing 737-800NG aircraft will join FlySafair's operations beginning in the third quarter of 2026.

Anbessie Yitbarek, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Africa at Boeing Commercial Airplanes, framed the move as a pivotal moment for the airline. "The addition of three 737 MAX airplanes marks a significant step in FlySafair's fleet modernization journey," he said, noting that FlySafair will join more than 80 airlines worldwide operating the 737 MAX.

Strong Earnings and New Partnerships

Last month, AerCap delivered impressive third-quarter results with adjusted earnings per share of $4.97, crushing the $3.08 consensus estimate. Revenue came in at $1.894 billion, slightly below the $1.978 billion expectation.

The company raised its full-year 2025 adjusted EPS guidance to $13.70 from $11.60, topping the $13.10 consensus.

Beyond the FlySafair deal, AerCap also announced a seven-year agreement with GE Aerospace to provide lease pool management services for the GE9X engine. The arrangement extends AerCap's existing support for GEnx, GE90, CF6, and CF34 engines.

Price Action: AER shares traded down 2.84% at $132.97 in premarket action Tuesday.
