AMD is making aggressive moves in the AI infrastructure battle, teaming up with HPE on its new Helios rack-scale architecture while cloud partner Vultr prepares to deploy 24,000 MI355X GPUs at a massive new Ohio data center.

Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (AMD) is making some serious noise in the AI infrastructure race. The chipmaker announced an expanded partnership with Hewlett Packard Enterprise Company (HPE) and a major capacity buildout from cloud partner Vultr that signals AMD is going all-in on capturing market share from the competition.

The centerpiece of the announcement is Helios, AMD's rack-scale AI architecture that bundles together AMD EPYC CPUs, AMD Instinct GPUs, Pensando networking, and the ROCm software stack. Think of it as a pre-integrated system designed to make deploying massive AI clusters less of a headache.
