Genius Group Limited (GNS) is doubling down on content production, acquiring Lighthouse Studios—a podcast and video facility in Bali—to centralize its educational media operations. The deal closed on December 19, 2025, and the studio will get a fresh coat of paint and a new name when it reopens as Genius Studios on January 23, 2026.

Financial terms weren't disclosed, which tells you the price tag didn't hit the threshold requiring a public announcement. What we do know is that Genius Group bought the assets from founder Monty Hooke and plans to turn the space into a one-stop shop for courses, certifications, podcasts, and social media content.

What's Inside the Studio

The facility comes equipped with professional recording studios, co-working spaces, a café, and meeting rooms—basically everything you need if you're trying to build a modern education company that lives online. CEO Roger James Hamilton made it clear that high-end video and broadcast capabilities aren't optional anymore in education. Consolidating production in Bali fits into the company's Genius Café model, which is designed to crank out scalable, high-quality content without sacrificing production values.

The Bigger Picture

This isn't just about buying a studio. Genius Group is building out what it calls immersive learning ecosystems across Southeast Asia, and Genius Studios plays a supporting role in that vision. The company is also moving forward with plans for a Bitcoin-powered education city in Bali, mixing AI, digital assets, and physical campuses into one ambitious project.

Genius Studios will help produce a documentary series on the development of Genius City and changing education models. Students will also get hands-on experience with AI-driven media tools, which fits neatly into the company's focus on blending tech and education.

As of June 30, 2025, Genius Group reported cash and cash equivalents of $2.69 million.
