Boeing secured a massive $8.6 billion Pentagon contract to supply F-15 fighter jets to Israel, even as President Trump signaled he's seriously considering selling advanced F-35s to Turkey, raising potential regional concerns.

Boeing Co. (BA) just landed an $8.6 billion contract to build fighter jets for Israel, the Pentagon announced Monday. The timing is interesting: the announcement came right after President Donald Trump met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Florida, where Trump also floated the idea of selling advanced jets to Turkey.

A Decade of Fighter Jet Production

The U.S. has been Israel's primary arms supplier for decades, and this contract keeps that relationship going strong. Boeing will design, integrate, and deliver 25 new F-15IA aircraft for the Israeli Air Force, with an option to add another 25 planes down the line.

The work will be done in St. Louis and is scheduled to wrap up by December 31, 2035, according to the Pentagon's announcement.

The F-15IA is essentially Israel's customized version of the F-15EX, which is the latest iteration of a fighter jet design that's been around for decades. These planes form the backbone of Israel's air force and have seen plenty of action over the past two years in operations against Iran, the Houthis in Yemen, and Hezbollah in Lebanon.

Last November, Israel signed a $5.2 billion deal for 25 F-15IAs, which were supposed to arrive in batches of four to six per year starting in 2031. Monday's contract effectively doubles that order, bringing the total F-15IA count to 50. That's on top of the 66 other F-15 variants already in Israel's arsenal.

The Turkey Question

While announcing support for Israel, Trump simultaneously indicated he's considering a fighter jet sale to Turkey that could complicate regional dynamics. During a press conference with Netanyahu at his Mar-a-Lago resort, Trump said his administration is "thinking about it very seriously" when asked about selling advanced F-35 fighter jets to Turkey.

Trump maintains a close relationship with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, even though Erdogan has been vocal in criticizing Israel over its actions in Gaza. That's a diplomatic tightrope walk if there ever was one.

Israel has previously expressed concerns about F-35s being sold to Turkey and other countries in the region. Those worries have intensified recently after Trump announced plans to sell the stealth fighters to Saudi Arabia as well.

Boeing Stock Performance

Boeing (BA) shares edged slightly higher in after-hours trading Monday, last trading at $217.62. The stock has performed well over the past year, climbing 23.05%.

Market data shows momentum as the strongest category for BA stock, with positive price trends across multiple time periods.
