During CNBC's "Halftime Report Final Trades," market veterans weighed in with their top stock picks, offering a mix of insurance, specialty finance, and defense plays.
Joe Terranova, senior managing director for Virtus Investment Partners, named Chubb Limited (CB) as his final trade. The insurance giant recently caught the attention of Mizuho analyst Yaron Kinar, who initiated coverage on Dec. 16 with a Neutral rating and a $318 price target.
Bryn Talkington, managing partner of Requisite Capital Management, highlighted Blue Owl Technology Finance Corp. (OBTF) as an income play worth watching. The stock currently offers a 10% distribution, which Talkington expects could translate into a 20% total return over the next year. Her bullish stance got some backup when B. Riley Securities analyst Sean-Paul Adams initiated coverage on Blue Owl Technology on Dec. 16 with a Buy rating and a $15 price target.
Jim Lebenthal, partner at Cerity Partners, pointed to the undeniable momentum building in Lockheed Martin Corporation (LMT). The defense contractor announced on Dec. 19 that it secured a Space Development Agency contract worth more than $1 billion for 18 TRKT3 space vehicles, which certainly helps explain the positive sentiment.
Price Action:
- Blue Owl Technology Finance shares climbed 3.8% to close at $14.66 on Monday.
- Lockheed Martin shares gained 1.2% to settle at $488.87 during the session.
- Chubb edged up 0.3% to close at $314.45 during the session.
